In 1953 Paul and Gertrud Hindemith moved into the Villa La Chance in Blonay, in which they spent their last ten years together. The address of this refuge was known only to their closest friends and relatives.
In addition to the actual work room on the first floor of the house, designated the «aquarium» due its large window front, Hindemith used a small garden shed as a composing cabin. From these two places, he enjoyed the impressive view over Lake Geneva all the way to the Valais und Savoy Alps.
