In August 2017 the Fondation Hindemith acquired the autograph manuscript of the Concert Piece for Two Alto Saxophones written in 1933. It was found in the estate of Sigurd Raschèr (1907-2001), one of the best-known classical saxophonists of the 20th century, who had commissioned the work from Hindemith. We have spoken with his daughter Carina Rascher, who performed the world premiere of this piece together with her father in 1960.
