        Programme: Hindemith Days 2015

        Drawing by Paul Hindemith 1959

        Sunday, 15 November
        3:30 PM: Hindemith Promenade
A stroll accompanied by music at various places in Frankfurt am Main where Paul Hindemith lived and worked

The stroll begins in the foyer of the Academy of Music and the Performing Arts in Frankfurt am Main (HfMDK). During the 1920s, these premises housed the Frankfurt radio station with which Hindemith was closely associated. After the war, the composer realised major projects with students of the newly founded Academy of Music.

We continue to the former Dr. Hoch’s Conservatory (today "Cinestar"), where Hindemith completed his musical studies. From his flat on Leerbachstraße 9 (today "die Welle") the stroll continues to the Alte Oper. This is where Hindemith served as concertmaster for eight years. There are music and readings at all four locations, organised by students of the HfMDK.
