On 12 November 2016 the conductor and pianist Christoph Eschenbach will be awarded the Hindemith Prize of the City of Hanau 2016. The prize winner himself, together with the violist Tabea Zimmermann (prize winner in 2006), will contribute to the musical accompaniment of this ceremony in the Congress Park in Hanau.
Together with the Academy of Music and the Performing Arts in Frankfurt (HfMDK), the Hindemith Institute Frankfurt organises the Hindemith Days each year in honour of the composer. From 9 to 20 November 2016, six concerts and an exhibition will take place in Hanau, Frankfurt am Main and Mainz.
The concert series “Chamber Music in the Cowherds’ Tower” will present highlights and new findings from the extensive oeuvre of Hindemith during the year 2017.
